Postby RonMc » Mon Aug 22, 2016 10:32 am

I keep building these things so i have to sell to make room, I am selling one of mu 'homebuilts' both have cases with wheels.
Both are 'Day' set up 3 pedals 4 levers, one has an 'alumitone' pickup and the other a lawrence 705.
Due to 'professional' advice, I will amend the price, pm for a price if interested.

I would rather it was tried and picked up.

Best Regards to all.
Ron Mc

ps. Our Mr JD has tested it for 'playability.'

I take it that's the price for your labour Ron and the parts price is still to be added! :o

My last (standard 'A' service) on the car was £650... fact!

Some 'early bird' or even bloke is going to pick up a bargain here!

Ah, bless you Bob, I build them to give myself something to do, I don't get around much now but I can still make it to my little workshop.
If I added on the 'labour costs' they would be unsaleable,as you rightly say costs are rising all the time, but I'm clearing my feet and staying out of the way of the missus.

Best Regards Ron.

My previous response was typed very quick sitting in the pictures with my Grand kids as the lights were going out but Ron's guitars deserve a much better write up than that, they do play very well and the engineering is first class, they have all you would expect from a "Pro" guitar and the finish is a work of art.
Ron, I hope to get over to you in the near future and grab one of them so I can put a little clip of it on You Tube if that's alright with you?
See you soon, JD

I now also need to explain my 1st post..

Ron in his usual generous manner had a price up that was devaluing his craftsmanship, hence my reaction.

The fact these are 'homebuilds' does not affect the build quality or reflect the material costs and it would be a disservice to pay less than the market value
I'm sure Ron will cut you a good deal but consider the time, expense and effort gone into the product!

Whilst not a 'Brand' there is more build in these than a couple of [shall we say.. industry standards] .. great to encourage those considering entering the world of PSG with a low budget... however it doesn't want to be at a loss and as you say Ron you couldn't price the man hours on it!

Look forward to the video clip when you get it done John!

I wish Ron !!....

I could fill a week with guys I have not seen in ages and would love to visit, I have fond memories of both your homes and I wouldn't need sat-nav to find you.

I have a tour in my head .....
Newcastle/Mansfield/Brecon Beacons/Barry/Siston/Kynver/Wellingborough/MK/St Neots/Norfolk/Crouch End/Slough/Southampton/Wimborne just off the top of my head ... not to mention and by no means in second place there's Ireland! Ted and Ivor top a long list there also....And all because of PSG

But for now the care of the 'old chap' fast approaching 95yrs [and trying to work at the same time] is the priority at the moment as some of you know!
He was in tears with frustration a few hours ago when he couldn't fix in his brain that I was actually his son! Sad for a man who once managed a large engineering workforce. Life can be cruel when you get old.......... though reflecting on recent posts here ...... it can be cruel at any age!

Sorry. Didn't mean to digress!

I hope you are well rewarded for your efforts Ron your guitars look super!

Well done that man!

Bob, you certainly have a lot on your plate at the minute. But you must step back every now and then and take a breath and look after yourself as well.
Best wishes mate.
