strange? wouldn't the Emmons decal be on it? how could the seller not know the name of it? unless he hadn't genuinely looked at the instrument, which sounds somewhat strange?

16 bids would suggest that the bidders know what it is. An Emmons volume pedal is included in the deal although it looks to be modified with a rubber door stopper. :D

On closer inspection it would appear to be an Emmons student model, still a push pull with good tone, but not with the same level of finish as the pro models. Putting the legs and rods in the the pedal bar wont help the finish of the pedal bar. Always use a rod bag!!

Current price should be about all of its money I would have thought.

What type of Emmons is this? The aluminium neck doesn't seem to extend over the pick-up. Looks like the pu is mounted on a plastic plate.

yeah your right Ken, does look like a white 50p door stopper, but if there are still 9 days to go, and bidding is currently £560 after 16 bids, most of them admittedly silly bids, in my fairly extensive experience of Ebay, i could see this going a lot higher, despite its true value you would say its worth, and i certainly wouldn't question your knowledge on things Emmons, i couldn't even tell it was a student model, re Ebay, i never ever bid on anything i want till the last 20 seconds of bidding, why show your hand to your opponents? had some bargains that way, doesnt always work, cos sometimes im up against some even smarter than me, all that bidding it up by a tenner when its standing at 40 quid or whatever is pure nonsence,

Ken is right, its an Emmons "Black Rock" the butterfly nut on the pedal bar gives it away, no quick release on this baby but still a very playable guitar, one of the few student models worth having IMHO.....

I wouldn't mind betting that this will make close to £1K, which would be way overpriced for what it is. Without doubt the best sounding student steel guitar available, but it is very basic cosmetically. SB Mavericks that get advertised on eBay make silly prices sometimes, much higher than their original retail prices. They don't start to compare with the Black Rock, because the Emmons can be upgraded mechanically in the same way that the pro models can.

Hi Guys,
I have asked the seller to put up more detailed photos ie:- assembled, front & rear/ close up of undercarriage, end plates etc. I've made one bid, so will await more info on photos. :?:
