Because i can`t be bothered to get the amp sorted out i may remove the amp and sell the Black Widow 12 inch speaker with the cabinet, the speaker is fine, the problem with the amp is it distorts but i dont think there is much wrong with it but i can`t be bothered with it.

Open to decent offers .

Jimmy, it is your call entirely, but i am really sad to hear you are about to seperate the amp from the speaker and cab, there are only a handful of these amps in the U.K. My good friend in Rochdale, gtr Manchester, Bonnar Coliano, owns two L.A.400's, and just loves them, and he has an amp tech working for him, please give him a call at Bonecat Music, he will im sure take the complete combo off your hands, and surely pay more than you will get for seperating the combo, better still ring Christine tonight on her mobile, i'll PM it to you, make sure you mention me, im known as EDDIE LONG FACE, cos i pulled my face when trying to negotiate a better deal off him, im sure you will be glad you did, please dont cannabalise such a hard to find combo,

I have been told 0n the Steel guitar forum that this amp is probably fine, but because there is no switch to change from the overdrive channel,to the clean channel so i can`t try the clean channel out,is there any way i could change the channels without a switch? because i`m sure it will work fine, the overdrive channel works great, and it`s very very loud. The reverb works fine also, so i don`t think there is much wrong with this amp, other than not having a switch. But it`s still for sale..

A lot of switchable channel guitar amp are switchable via the foot pedal and an onboard switch, unfortunately the LA 400 can only change channel via a footswitch, but i think almost any footswitch with a 1/4" jack will do this, or buy one, they are not dear, try out the clean channel first before you sell, its mega loud and very clean, i did find mine a bit nasally sounding, which i couldn't dial out to my needs, but they are a great work horse of an amp, loudest amp i ever played through, i found it great with a strat for the old shadows stuff,
