clearly will take some work to bring it back to life but potentially a nice little project

Shame it's so rusty. It's quite local to me... I might message and ask for photos of the undercarriage.

You can see its based on a ZB maybe someone took the back neck off a D10 and sold the bits to a builder but from that pic you cannot really tell if the parts are genuine ZB

They sent me some photos of the underneath. Can't see how to upload them here but the lighting is terrible and they are not very useful anyway. Seems to have four knee levers and a lot more rust going on. I've a feeling it is probably beyond saving.

Oh dear. I thought I'd bid a tenner and no-one else bid! I guess I'll go and pick it up this week and see how bad it really is. Might break it up for spares if anyone's interested?

If it’s really bad, you could always call Harold and his dad

We still have a rag & bone man with a horse and cart in our village!

I've just picked this up. I'll try to post some photos later if I can figure out how to do it.

The auctioneer told me it was owned and played by a lady from Shipton in Yorkshire. Anyone know who that might have been?

The bad news is that it's absolutely filthy, and a lot of the steel parts are indeed very rusty. It also weighs a ton -- it's at least as heavy as my MSA D10.

The good news is that it's a lot closer to being functional than I expected. The pickup and all three pedals work. Three of the knee levers currently do nothing and the other one works, but with far too much travel. Miraculously it seems to be set up in the same way as my MSA, with the pedals in Day and the E lower on LKL. The changer mechanism looks like it was machined from brass, and although it's dirty, it's not visibly corroded.
