I’m not an expert on amp circuitry, but my Nashville 112 is 4 Ohm. What are the full ramifications of connecting an 8 Ohm speaker?

Great speaker Ted, surprised it's still available.

Olimpianative,
Yes it can be used. The Ohms rating stated on an amplifier is generally the minimum, not maximum. The 4 Ohm amplifier will have no problem powering it. :)
Note that if the power rating of an amplifier is rated at x Watts at 4 Ohms, the maximum output at 8 Ohms can be as little x/2 or ½ the rated output at 4 Ohms. As Ohms go up, maximum SPL (sound pressure level or volume) goes down.
This also delineates the problem of an amplifier driving a lower Ohm load: as the Ohms go down, the amplifier tries to deliver MORE power, likely more power than it’s circuitry is rated to handle. Hope that helps.

Thanks for your impput Jim .... seems you are pretty knowledgeable on the subject. I fitted a 12" BW 1203 in my NV 112
and the difference was amazing. Sarah Jory borrowed it last year when she was in Ireland doing a few gigs and she loved it.
Ken Byng, did you run out of words?

Unlike me Ted

I just wanted to make the point that all of the Peavey Nashville 112 amps that I've looked at have contained 8 ohm Blue Marvel speakers as standard, including 2 that I own. Your B/W speaker will be fairly close to a JBL D120 in tone, but way more robust. I have put a couple of Eminence Travis Toy speakers in my 112 amps, but if I was 50 years younger I would snatch your arm off for that speaker. As an old b*****d I need to reduce the weight of my amps these days, not increase them.
