Webb Amp 614-E For Sale

Postby NickJ » Thu Oct 13, 2022 12:55 pm

Hi all,

I have a Webb 614-E amp for sale.

I imported this from Texas few years ago for my father in law who was a steel player.

The previous owner believed it to be a 70s model. It has a 15" Black Widow speaker. I recently spoke with a musician friend of mine in Nashville who advised the Black Widow is a great speaker for loud clean playing that doesn't break up as quick as other speakers do.

Comes with a cover and complete with brand new voltage converter.

Collection only from Essex. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any questions.

Thank you for allowing the post.

I haven't been a member previously, I play guitar, but not pedal steel.

My father in law played for many years and I have appreciation for the instrument and art, I figured I would mention it here first before trying to sell it elsewhere.

Hi Francois, this Webb amp has been for sale on this website some time ago and numerous people have requested
the selling price. Why dont you give us some indication of what you are asking for the amp. Would £750,00 buy it?

The Webb 614E is a great pedal steel amp and has been for many many years. Many of those of you who watched the wonderful Tommy White YouTube clip that was posted by Roy Heap, will know that he played through a Webb on that clip. Tommy's tone through a Webb was exemplary, and illustrated in this superlative clip.

Show Pro D10 (amber) 8 + 6, MSA Signature XL D10 (redburst) 9 + 6, Sho~Bud D10 (sunburst) Pro 111 8 + 6, Emmons D10 Push Pull - (black) 8+5, Zumsteel D10 (blue) 8 + 8, Hudson pedal resonator, 10 string lap steel. Telonics, Peavey & Webb amps,

I tried a Webb amp Ted was selling at on of the Irish festivals, it sounded great, but if I remember quite heavy.I have gone full circle with amps going through session 500 session 400 Nashville 400, fender Vibrosonc, Twin Reverb, Evans Fet 500, Nashville 112, and have settled with an Evans EH 200 with 1x15" Telonic speaker, it is mainly due to getting old and lazy, and trying to keep weight down to a minimum when gigging. Everyone I speak to have said the amp to have these days is a Teleonics, as their sound is just right, the trouble is they appear so expensive, and although have a specially designed cab, with the corners and grill, they look like someone has built it themselves from Maplins parts. I think you have one Ken, I know Dave Hayward bought one and said no matter what settings he dials in, the sound is fantastic. I know you have had many amps in your time Ken, what are your thoughts mate?
