Question for all you Electronic experts

Postby coolsteel » Wed Oct 27, 2021 4:45 pm

Having recently purchased a Quilter Steelaire amp I miss the fact that it does not have a headphone connection. Years ago I had a Fender 100 amp which again did not have a headphone socket . My then local radio /TV shop made me up a small box which sat on the top of my amp to which I connected my headphones and which in turn was connected to my amp which allowed me to use headphones. Is there a gadget on the market which you can buy which would enable the use of headphones with my current amp? Thanks in advance.

Richard, if you are only going to listen to it through headphones you may as well forget the amp and use something like a JSH rockbox that will put pure stereo directly into your ears.

Hi John
Thank you for your suggestion I was wanting to hear the sound of my steel through my amp using headphones. I already have Signal-Flex headphone amp where you plug your steel direct into it but the sound leaves a lot to be desired.

Then, Woodshed Woodshed Woodshed ! Till the sound improves lol. But seriously, I am not familiar with the gadget you mention but the Jsh requires two seperate power supplies and you hear your guitar in pure stereo,I was shown it by my dear departed friend Berny from "Nicholls and Dimes" as i wondered why he sat there picking with a big grin on his face......

I may have a spare one Richard I will try to find it for you but you will need a couple of power supplies to run it and someone who knows how to connect it.
