Sorry Pete, None of us wanted to muck up a potential purchaser in our PSG community but although this seller has half a dozen good feedbacks on standard guitar sales this one just didn’t and in many ways still doesn’t stack up. Like Ken I would give this a wide berth!

I'm not suggesting this fell off the back of a lorry, can't see any dents in the pics!

But perhaps:

A pass worded UK PSG serial number register could be food for future thought, some work in putting it together but I know the very fellow who would take great delight in collating that for us. (and no its not me!)

Worth consideration though! We are a family after all.... let's keep 'em in the family! Only because we care!

It is done in other genres why not PSG.

Still no reply I asked him to garantee that everything was there or I would not pay cash on collection and still no serial number. buyer beware !!!!!!!

I posted my questions to this guy at 17:09 yesterday & he responded @ 22:09.
I suspect that your request for serial number is giving him the problem as the guitar is in London & he's in Wolverhampton. So I wouldn't expect a reply until maybe Monday...

Just as a matter of interest I believe this is the seller http://www.youtube.com/user/Khinalalada So since he seems to be a musician maybe we should be extra cautious

What do we think this guitar should be worth if complete and in as (alleged) new condition

I do'nt have a horse in this race.
I do have an opinion though.
With regard to the goods being stolen,it is very hard to tell,any deal on e bay could be dodgy,perhaps You are covered by the e bay policy against this.
It is possible that the owner removed the C6 works to lighten the guitar and have the back neck as a non pedal tuning.
It would'nt be the first time this had been done methinks.
The fact that the seller is asking for cash and local pickup would indicate that the guitar exists and He would surely allow inspection before purchasing.

The guitar is a Legrande 3, and if it were in really good order (which it isn't in its current state), it could be worth between £2,000 to 2,500. Giving a S/H price is always difficult, as it would only be worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. I would be astonished if every single part was kept intact. I bet the owner didn't photograph the undercarriage first before ripping out the C6 parts. It does at least help when you have multi-hole pullers to get them balanced. It would have come that way from Emmons when it was new.

The only problem if you decline to take up the deal on inspection is that you could get a negative feedback if not careful. Rules on feedback have improved, but every interested party on this forum would probably feel more comfortable if the seller was a forum member. That way, at least there would be some kind of background history and accountability.

The seller has still not made it clear in his advert that all of the C6 parts have been removed. That could be a big shock to someone if they are unaware of that fact, and they actually win the auction. In effect, it is buying as described, and not buying as seen, because there are no pictures of the removed parts.

Hi Harry here. The guitar has has three foot pedals on the rear neck.
The front neck has no foot pedals attached but parts are
included in the sale price if the buyer chooses to fit them
to the instrument. The guitar came with four knee levers
from the Emmons guitar factory in the USA.
The guitar has no visible serial numbers - this instrument was purchased
from Emmons guitar factory
- a phone call to the factory would confirm this.

Am I missing something here? was this not originally posted at a start price of £1300 plus? I was thinking by the time I paid Bob 200 quid to rebuild it....... not a bad axe for a little over 1500.....not so now! I think he will be lucky to get a bid for that start price.......... he now won`t be getting one from me

The seller does not appear to know which is the front neck and which is the rear.
I doubt if He is trying to scam,If anyone is interested and lives near enough I would suggest a visual inspection before buying.
The serial number ??? hmmm

I reckon that someone will have a go and take a gamble on this guitar. Having bought spare parts for my own LeGrande, I can tell you that they are not cheap, and this needs to be factored in should anyone here be interested in having a go. It all hinges around the seller providing evidence of the retained parts before the end of the auction. There should be photographic evidence of this. The photo's provided have been carefully taken to avoid showing the whole of the underside of the guitar.

The question that I think most of us would ask the owner is this. How does removing the pedals and all pull rods from the C6 neck make it easier to play? It will make the guitar lighter, but retaining both necks would have retained its market value. As we all know, you can play E9 perfectly well with a C6 neck in place.

Secondly, serial numbers on Emmons guitars aren't too difficult to find if you just take time to look. Now that is a concern if the serial number can't be quoted.
