State of the Arc?? That is a Practical Wireless special, where they advertised a built-it-yourself plan in one of their editions. Looks like either the prototype or someone actually made one from the plans. Next to that, the Little Buddy looks positively sophisticated! :o

Quite right, Ken - and the Wharfedale amp looks to be of the same vintage.

One thing I can tell you for certain is that the fretboard and the pickup were made by Cyril Procter of Leeds.

I've still got one of those p/ups, a 10string one. They need a pre-amp to drive a normal amp. Cyril used to adverrtise in the BMG (Banjo, Mandolin and Guitar) magazine.
The plans for the thing on eBay were in a Practical Wireless during 1969; it was antiquated then!

Nice one guys, I still have two Cyril Proctor's, 8 & 10 string PUP's. My late father built one of those, and was fun to play.
Still got the old magazine, (somewhere) :D :D :D
