Maverick & Carter Starter

Thu Aug 22, 2013 1:55 pm

Hi guys!

I'm going to be selling a Maverick (3 floor 1 knee) and/or a Carter Starter in the coming weeks once I have bought a new Steel. I'm wondering what I should be asking for for each of these.

The Maverick is play-ready but the Carter needs a little work. One knee lever has been disabled and the pedal tuning peg (at the bridge end) for string three needs a 'hex' putting on it to tune.

Together, I paid around £1200 for these. I understand that the odds are I won't quite make that back, but have no idea what I should be asking for. There are cases for both and I even have the original instruction manual for the Maverick(!) the manual has seen better days though!

Furthermore, I understand that Ronnie Bennett can sort the Starter within a few hours at a reasonable price!

Should probably mention that both of these are in good cosmetic condition.

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers guys.

Brad.

You'll be more likely to make that money back if you sell them separately, I think. I had a Starter, they may get a lot of flak but they are a decent guitar for a beginner. It's a pity they can't easily be changed around.

You think so Will? As long as I nearly make my money back I'm not too fussed!

They're great instruments to learn on. They just don't compare to the real pro instruments. Like you said, you can't modify them, which is unfortunate!

I'll just have a wait around and see what, if any, offers are made :-)

Stick them on Fleabay, some of them go for reasonable prices.
