For those of us who remember 'Practical Wireless', circa 1972. :geek: :D They did a feature on building a pedal steel (10string), and this looks like (from the details in the photos), was home made using some of the ideas in its construction. The P/U looks very much like a 'Cyril Proctor' . Happy bidding

Jim - some of us do remember the Practical Wireless design - they did one about 1968 that was a big box with two pedals - looked like a home organ!
Kev - in those days Cyril was about the only source of pickups in UK for more than 6 strings - and I've also got a couple of 10 pole ones. With the magnet and winding in a routed out wooden body covered with black speaker-cabinet vinyl, they are very low output and needed an on-board preamp to work properly.
Ahhh - memories! Tony.
