I'm thinking of selling my Carter S10 along with all the bits that I've acquired since buying it three years ago. I bought the Carter from (STEDDIE) Eddie Byrne who I think had it two years from new. It’s been mostly in my studio since although I have done a couple of gigs with it. I've thoroughly enjoyed learning to play and I've fulfilled an ambition in doing so but I just don’t have time to practice any more. The kit is gathering dust and it's a shame.
The package looks like this:
Carter S10 3+5 with Carter hard case & tuning key
Goodrich volume pedal,
Bar & picks
Behringer delay and reverb pedals
Peterson Strobo-Flip tuner
“Roc n’ Soc” premium quality drum seat with backrest
Tutor DVD's from Jeff Newman (3), Bruce Bouton, Rob Haines
Very lightweight ZT Club amplifier (really nice piece of kit with a nice, clean tone and, at 230 watts, SO DARN LOUD)
Extra sets of strings and all necessary leads
I'd like to sell it all together because I really don't want the hassle of selling it piecemeal. Thought it might make a great beginners package at around £1600 (negotiable) for the lot. On the other hand, maybe a fellow steelie would like buy it, split it up into smaller lots and make a bit of money on the deal. PM me if you are interested and we can talk shipping and stuff.

Nice try John and I would expect nothing less from you but, believe it or not, my life really is full of good things that I enjoy doing. When I bought the steel I was on long term sick leave from work and had time on my hands. Learning to play both stimulated me and helped to prevent me going stir crazy for sure but I am back at work full time now and I am heavily involved in other musical ventures that, to me, are more important. It's all about priorities I suppose.
I'm glad you are passionate about pedal steel John and I'm grateful to you and all the guys on here who have helped me to learn how to play this beautiful instrument.
I'm due to retire in four years so I may take up the pedal steel again then but for now, I gotta let go.
Bless ya'
Alan

Hi Alan,
I'm new to the PSG and the forum and am interested in your package. Is it still for sale? You can send me a message through Dr. Finlay's Facebook if you prefer.

Alan, It sounds like you have made your mind up, seems sad to us lot but your reasoning seems to be very well thought out.
Best of luck with whatever your future holds, and best of luck with the sale, there's a great deal for someone there, fingers crossed it goes without having to split.
Advice for what its worth- dont drop the price and hang on in there, everything has a buyer, just takes a little time for stuff to move.
cheers mate,
Dave.

Hi Dave, nice to have your best wishes and thanks for your past help with stuff. Much appreciated.
By the way, I intend to keep my membership up if that's allowed when you don't actually own a steel. I'm still very much interested in what's going on in the crazy world of pedal steel guitar and I love the banter on here. It makes my day sometimes just reading the posts. This is a great site.
God bless ya' matey
Alan

Hey Alan, Tis a shame mate, needs a little more thought, you may well regret it very shortly, anyway all the best with what you have in mind next.

Roy, thanks for your best wishes. From where I'm standing the real shame is a pedal steel guitar not being used. I'm sure there is someone out there who could put that right by playing it more often than I get the time to.
Bless you
Alan
