Steel vacancy here.......wanna job?????

Hi John,
Sorry for the late reply. That fine by me John. Feel free to put up my email. And thank you very much for offering your services. But I think the current band will need to get a rehearsal schedule going so as to accumulate a weighty list of songs in order to make your own/another steeler's presence at a pre-gig rehearsal worthwhile, as I'm sure you guys won't need much rehearsal time and can slot right in.

Cheers,
Mark

Hello Mark,
If its ok with you I will put your email on the steelies site and let them contact you directly, but I warn you most of us are in our 60`s......... In the meantime I would be happy to come and play for you until you get fixed up??

Regards, John

Hi there John,
Mark here again. Now I'm back from the States (what a trip!) I just wanted to drop you a line to see if you might have put the word out to any of your London client base, who might be interested rehearsing with my band I mentioned to you earlier in the summer?

Cheers,
Mark

Hi,Mark,
Thanks for the mail, Yes I know most of the Steelies. The problem you will have if your looking for someone good, is that he probably won`t be in your age group, it takes years to get that smoothness and that sound you want
and most of the proficiant players have been at it for years and they are working.
Where exactly is your band going to be based ? are you right inside London? Give a little more info and I will try to help.

Regards, John

Hello there John,

My name is Mark and I received your email address through Cameron Tilbury. Cameron and I met at the Brad Paisley gig in Shepherd's Bush last week. He saw me putting up flyers that advertised Country musicians being needed to form a band that I want to put together.
I said we were looking for a pedal steeler. He said that he played a little steel, but said I really ought to get in touch with you as you were the contact for all-things-steel in the UK?
I already have a singer/rhythm guitarist who I met through a gumtree advertisement last year, plus a drummer who responded directly form last week's flyer. I have a close friend who can play bass. I'm the lead guitarist by the way. We're all in our late twenties/ early thirties.

So, if you know of any good steelers in the west London area who would be keen on completing a fledgling but committed country & americana band, do please get in touch!

Cheers loads,
Mark Lyons
