Country influenced songwriter looking for steelie

Hello to all, I am a country influenced songwriter, with some really distinctive, melodic material, also quite edgy, Waylon is a big influence. Its very song based, but simple, in a beautiful way like country music used to be. Looking to get together with a pedal steel player first, in the early formative stages of forming a band, to work out song arrangements, and ideas, I can hear a lot of steel on all these numbers. I play steel myself, but I want to sing 'em, as I have some songs here that mean quite alot to me.
Looking to eventually have drums, bass, and another guitarist to form a five piece maybe. I don't wish to blow my own trumpet, but if I don't no one else will.....and to be perfectly honest, if this comes together, it is really going to be seriously good...I mean really good!

I am in Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield area. Hope there may be a steelie pretty local who might be interested. Thanks for reading.

How local does a steelplayer have to be to show interest? I live in St.Neots but my regular gig is at Bulkington just down the road from you and we will be there next tuesday as the gig is the second tuesday of the month, also the new lad in our band plays steel as well and he lives even closer to you.....

Hi Paul, if you're available I would suggest a trip to Bulkington on Tuesday next week (9th July). You'll get a great evening of free country and western music, a cheap bar, and a chance to chat with John (and myself) about steel playing, etc. I'm the 'new lad' in the band, by the way Though I'm more of a steel owner than steel player, especially when compared to John!!
The gig is at Poppy's Venue, Stafford Cl, Bulkington, Bedworth CV12 9QX and we'll start about 20:30.
