Second Solo Experimental Gig

Postby Haddock » Sun Jan 15, 2023 1:39 pm

Hi Folks
Having got away with playing in Edinburgh, I thought it was time to try a Glasgow crowd. I shall be performing more of this nonsense in the Glad Cafe on the 15th of February to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of Decimalisation. I only know this because at primary school, we were taught a wee song and I still remember it!
Cheers

Hi Donny
It was only confirmed at the weekend so the blurb hasn’t been put on the site yet. Will probably be today. Would be really nice if you could make it.

Here’s a link to the tickets Donny. Sorry about the price but it was the venues recommendation and small venues need our support. Doors are 7.30 and I’ll probably go on at 8.30. Supposed to be a brilliant venue and PA!

Magic, Calum! (you should make this your stage name)
It's an excellent, intimate venue. I reckon your setup will manage to fill the stage!
GFI Ultra keyless S10 4+5 Emmon's setup + Sigler, Li'l Izzy, Hilton volume pedal, Roland Cube 80gx, Joyo American Sound Pre-amp, Behringer VD400 Delay Pedal, Peterson Strobo Plus HD and a brace of bars, Ben's, Ezzee-Slide, Pearse, BJS, SIT nickel strings.

A fine stage name indeed Danny but might have trade description issues if I was unable to produce a Hat Rabbit! Plenty room on stage I think. I dont use an amp any more and don’t even need monitors as I’ve switched to ‘in ear’. Still a pile of shit to cram in the car though…..

Thanks Danny, great if you can make it. It will help answer the ancient philosophical conundrum that ‘ if someone’s plays a pedal steel in a forest and no one hears it, did it make any sound?’

As regards your philosophical conundrum: it does make a sound unless (of course) you're an absolute idealist (a la Bishop Berkeley) or have read too much Borges.

Sadly I will be in Ho Chi Minh City on the 15th, but I'll be there in spirit (more idealism).

Sock it to them!!

Thanks for the explanation Gary and you are always there in spirit except when wearing your spurs. I must find a gig nearer your part of the world sometime….
Enjoy the jet setting.
