I finally decided to get off my arse and do another Cancer research collection gig so, its on for 7th of August at a little village called Colmworth in Bedfordshire where they have a classic car and bike meeting. I usually go on my Tiger 110 but for the next one I am taking my Emmons instead and will play to my tracks for the three hours it is on 9 to 12. If weather is nice the place will be rammed and looking at the collection of beautiful classics I will as usual be the only poor person there so I expect to get my collection buckets at least half full!.
To my shame I have not done one of these since 2016 and prior to that 2010! so I reckon it is about time, and they have promised me a new T shirt......

Well done once again JD, if I can’t make it I will certainly send a donation for your bucket and you know why.
Hopefully I will be there, it would be good if any members living in that area could come and back you up as it’s a great cause.

Roy, not worth anyone coming to it, there would be no where to park unless you come in a 1930' Rolls Royce and its all over by 12 mid day.
I think the cancer Research will send me a direct link for anyone that wants to put a shilling in and I will post it as soon as its available.

Great stuff John, a worthy cause indeed, God alone knows when any of us will need help from this horrendous disease.
More power to your elbow Sir.

Well here we go the event is happening a week from this Sunday on the 7th August, I don't expect to raise the sort of money I did at Tesco's as this event only lasts 3 hours and I did six at Tesco's. But if any of you gents or ladies would like to contribute a little to the cause, If you click on the forum donate Button and mark your donation For "John's Cancer research gig " Then Bob has kindly agreed to receive it for me and will forward it. Cancer research has sent a new Banner and T shirt and I promise to make a fool of myself as on previous occasions ........

Good on yer John, I have relied on help and advice from various cancer charities over the past year. The help and advice they have given me has helped me get to grips with my condition and understand the finer details of what I have had to deal with. I have met many cancer sufferers when I have been in for treatments and they all sing the praises of the various cancer charities.
Cancer comes in many different guises and it is very confusing when you are first diagnosed, charities such as Cancer Research have a wealth of information on their website which certainly helped me understand my specific condition.
They also offer counselling services where you can just walk in or phone them and someone will talk to you and help you deal with the trauma of having cancer.
Hope you raise a goodly amount and more strength to your right hand good sir.
(We need a thumbs up smiley Arcada

Thank you for your input Geoff, what I like about doing this is it is so easy to do like shooting fish in a barrel, I havent played a bum note yet and already have 30 quid from north of the border, a tenner from "The Highway Patrol" and a cheque on its way from Harry! How easy is that!
The event this coming Sunday is only my 3rd time since 2010 and if only for the losses my family has suffered i should have done more.

Progress REPORT Well so far of my two helpers that are coming on Sunday to guard the collection buckets My Number one Dave Seddon has managed to get himself run over BY A PIZZA DELIVERY BIKE!! result two broken ribs, My number two Ian has been assaulted by some thugs and now has a nasty gash on his face.....All is lost I hear you thinking???? NOT a Bit of it!! I will take the walking wounded if they come and if they don't I will be there come Hell or High water!!
Now for the good news, My dear friend Harry has made a major donation to the cause so the total as I write, AND before I have played one bum note stands at£290-00 And I am so proud of my friends and their commitment, Watch this space and its gonna be a good day!

How went the day?? BLOODY HOT!! But all was done and considering it was only a small local event that lasts for just three hours I am satisfied with the
£93-00 that was in the collection buckets because when you add it to the £290 -00 That has already been collected, it amounts to a grand total of £383 - 00 That will be going to Cancer Research in the next few days, Thank you all those that have helped, and Harry your a star!
