Sounds like you had a Great time Chris, very jealous, wish I had, had the opportunity to do something like this. Did you record the show? Would be great to hear it.

You have probably seen these already but I'll put them up anyway. I Don't Know You has always been one of my favourite songs from the New Riders. Garcia's steel on this track is just brilliant imho, and one of the reasons I wanted to take up pedal steel. It only took another 50 years before I got around to it.

This is a live version with Jerry on steel,

A lesson on how to play the steel parts,

Are you planning on doing more of these gigs?

Great set list but no dead flowers - the new riders version on their home home on the road album is the best .

I have been inspired by buddy cage and Bobby black all of my time playing what I've found is my favourite track on my favourite album is Cmdr. Cody Hey mama mama live at the armadillo in Texas and there are 3 or 4 other versions available of the same track they do nothing for me if you listen to live at the Armaillow and Bobby Black He absolutely Burns it

Thanks for all the interest in this topic. I had set up a camera on a tripod off stage to record the band – there were was a strict policy of not filming the audience – but with all the challenges of getting set up in near 40°C heat and pre-gig nerves I forgot to start the recording :O I remembered about two songs in but because tI couldn't reach the camera and we had to no breaks in the set, there was nothing I could do about it. I'll see if I can source video from someone else.

I should know better, it is just not a good idea to try to be a performing musician and videographer at the same time. Too much going on.
