First Gig with an Old Band

Wed Jun 12, 2019 3:37 pm

I’ve also got a gig on the 15th in Audio in Glasgow with a band called Smackvan that Ive known for years but never played with. Fans of good country music would be absolutely traumatised if they went to this so I suggest staying as far away as possible! Very dark music, lots of ambient noise and strange sounds from steel required and a lot of improvising so the new technology will be getting serious use. Hope the years of scales pays off....... Kind of gig where you have to stay sober till its over......then a large dram.....
Cheers

Had a look at the venue and band you are gigging with on the 15th, regards the "music" it's a good idea to push the boundaries, but watch what you are doing as the river Clyde runs deep near that venue!
Pity Geoff's got a sore thumb, otherwise he could help you carry your gear to save on the entry fee!
Here is a description of the "music" on offer and good luck on the night.
P. S.
I overlooked an orchid while searching for who knows :guitar: , I could get into town with my buss pass to support you and the Scottish Independence bit :P , would they give a discount for pensioners ?

Thanks Robert. Scottish independence needs all the support it can get and I don’t just mean the music! Not sure what the pensioner policy is but they’re letting Geoff in.....
Cheers

No discounts for pensioners I'm afraid but I checked and they will allow Zimmer's to be brought in, so you and I should be OK Robert :?

(I'm bringing my Zimmer with the pedals btw)

Did you know that "orchid" is derived from the Greek for "testicle"?

Despite Robert’s best intentions, he always ends up talking bollocks.....

Geoff
Regards the Zimmer frame, I can't use it in public, as it's supporting a lap steel! :o
Apart from that my carer has a previous engagement that evening, leaving me housebound.

Tony
Thanks for the lesson on the Greek language, it will add to my knowledge of foreign languages,
I did learn some French whilst working in shipyards on the river Clyde!

I do have good intentions but the truth hurts, thankfully I'm not a "support" act for testicles :P, having a need for Geoff to check your equipment gives us good cause to use "Jock strap" as your new AKA ?
