Nice to see Gordon on, and getting full named credits, on TOTP2 last night (BBC2 6.30pm).

John - click this link and scroll through to about "24.25" on the time line. It's nothing you haven't seen (MSC) before, but there are some subtitled comments about Gordon and lots of close-up. http://www.bbc.co.uk/i/b01jk4xc/ Regards, Tony ;)

I had an identical blue ZB to Gordon's when they were both imported to the UK by Eric. £832 quid which was a load of cash in 1972. I PX'd my Ormston steel.

The sound of a ZB through a Fender Twin has a classic and very defined tone. Gordon's style of right hand picking and rolling the hand to one side has continued to be used by some of his devotees. Check out JD's clips on YouTube. Gordon died far too young. I much preferred his C6 playing to E9, but he was a very good player - period.

Not really Tony. Mine had blue necks with blue front and rear aprons and natural birdseye top. The same as Gordon's in the TOTP clip.

Just watched GH on that link and noticed he was using a metal thumb pick. Was that his usual set up?

Tony, Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction..... great to see him again! and there was a speech bubble came up about Gordon backing Ray Stevens version of "Misty" I was at that session with Gordon and again when he was there for Barbara Dixon when she had "Answer me" in the charts.... great memories, I think it was the "Johnny Pearson Orchestra" and Gordon fitted in just right.... :)

I was fortunate to own Gordon's blue ZB for a few years and a fine guitar it was too !
Eric Snowball confirmed it was Gordons from the serial number on the invoice he had for it (which I still have although it is with all
our gear up in Scotland.......Don't ask ! ).
It was the first ZB Eric imported into the UK and, if I remember right , Gordon bought it with the royalties from "Woodstock",
he actually used his "Denley" on the record.
My good friend and yours, Bob Adams, now has it up in Scotland and has refurbished it magnificently, have a look on his website
for the photo's.
All the best
Frank. Wales :D :D

Even after all this time , Gordon's sound is terriffic, is there anyway we can keep this clip of that video? I cannot find it on Youtube and it would be a shame to lose it. First time I had seen that. magic.
