My Latest Aquisition Shobud S10 in the sick bay :(

Fri Dec 29, 2017 3:31 pm

I owned this guitar about four years ago and its found its way home and although it is pretty as a picture, under her skirt was far from eye candy and it did not feel as a Shobud should, this is my second day of trying to get it right and if I cannot fix it I will keep it as an ornament, it may give you the hots to look at it but IMHO NBG if'n it does not work properly!.
Today I launched a full scale attack on 7440 (for the benefit of PK who likes numbers ) I removed the angle iron (Poss. bed Iron) and replaced with a mixture of "Shobud" and "Bennett" parts, this has made the guitar a little lighter and as you can see by the pics it is coming along nicely. :)

First two pics are the offending parts removed, distance between shaft center and rod hole 24mm but on replacement parts distance between shaft center and center rod hole 30 mm that extra 6mm of leverage made a massive difference and still left wriggle room for adjustment.
Guitar now plays as good as it looks! just waiting for a couple of Shobud shaft supports from the US then I can fire up the other two levers, at this time I just have E's raise and lower.
