Klines and Excels in the UK

Who has a Kline or Excel? Apparently they are the best made modern guitars, aside from Williams, so lets have some testimony from some Brits!

Probably the best testimony possible regarding the Kline is B.J. Cole, he has had his for years. As for the Excel, first one to come to mind is Stuart Johnson. So there's a start for you Tim.

I would put the Infinity guitar way ahead of both Kline and Excel in terms of being the best made.

I have an Excel Superb 12 string uni and love it. Maybe it is not the best build (I have not seen an Infinity just read comments) but it has some really clever mechanical features such as all tuning including the open strings being done at the changer which allows for 7 raises and 5 lowers on each string. Also being keyless and single body it is one of the lightest and most compact steels around which is great for transport.

I didn't even know they were still making Klines. But I must admit I'd love to try one of those U12 Excels. Never even seen an Infinity, although all those features that Frank Carter implies are big pluses are features of any decent modern steel, so there must be something else that makes them special. Like to try one but they are so rare I've never seen one. I do love my Williams, although there are design compromises here and there. Plenty bang for the buck!
