Why ?

Postby Uncle Roy » Sun Jan 26, 2014 12:26 am

This may sound stupid but I put this question to you guys.
I noticed on eBay that someone is selling a brand new 6 string pedal steel guitar.
I ask why would you want to buy a 6string pedal when there is so many 10 string guitars available surely can't be for the price.
What would your reason be and does anyone own one.
I am just interested to know.

Beats me too Roy, I thought it must be some 'new condition' (old job)but it's not!

This is Fesse's claim!

I think its down to cost Bob, and 10 strings are expensive.... I started out with an 8 sting "Pierce" many years ago and it got me into it untill I got my ZB Student model. I have watched Jerry building guitars in his workshop and its not a large concern ... about half the size of Ronnie Bennetts double garage. Jerry builds a fine guitar but not massive production so I guess putting out a cheaper starter type helps keep him afloat. If its only a 6 string, you can bet its a good one (for the money) I see Buddy Cage now plays one of Jerry`s guitars, you can reckon that one will have all the Bell`s and whistles fitted... ;)
