Constructive criticism:
You're playing slightly flat to the backing track, plus you haven't tuned the cabinet drop out of your steel, which makes the flat playing even more noticeable.

Remedy:
You may have your headphone volume too loud, which can cause players to play off-pitch.


Tune your steel with the A and B pedals pressed, then release the pedals and listen to the slight raise in pitch of the fourth string.

Use this fourth string pitch as a reference to tune the open strings, then retune their raises and lowers.

I know Jason is open to criticism.

Jason, I also noticed I can hear your pedal operations within your slides.
You must practice slides so that you can't hear these.
A good way to practice this is to pick string 5, slide back 2 frets and operate your A pedal, then slide up 2 frets and release the A pedal..... You should NOT hear the note change at all.

Then your instrumentals will all sound a whole lot smoother.

Maybe add more effect too, but don't over do it....

Thanks Richard, I've had another look at my tuning. Hopefully it's sorted now. The intonation problem is more likely to be my bar placement. That needs work!
