telboy, are you telling us that the better half has purchased it for you?
It looks a decent bit of kit.

hello dave, yes mate should be here wednesday fingers crossed... she doesn't normally take an interest but she surprised me with this...i know it isnt top of the range but its gotta be better than my sx, and if you look closely it seems to be mainly 10 string hardware so hopefully me n bob adams will be figering out what needs doing to make it so...hes a good fella that bob, ill have to pay for his plastic surgery after all the ear bending he's had from me over the last few days :D

Thats great, have to admit I get 100% support from my missus, certainly makes life easier.

Bob? hes a star, we are so lucky to have him around, Ive certainly kept the 'old haggis' on his toes over the last few months.
best of luck with the new aquisition, keep us posted on how it sounds and plays.
Dave.

righto, the guitar has arrived... the nut turns out to be an old bit of skanky aluminium, the bridge has just collapsed, it was being held together by the tension of the strings, the spacing looks like its been done by a blindman on acid, each space being different and not one is correct!...BUT, before i tried changing the strings, i gave it a quick blast, it did have that deep mellow 50s sound which i was after...i will be keeping the guitar as its a pressie from the wifey but obviously i need to get it sorted...i've tried swopping over the nut and bridge for some that came off a gretsch lapsteel, but they dont line up with the pickup and anyway they're the wrong height, ie strings sit on the pickup, which cant be altered as it's just been screwed to the body so thats no good...bugger

Tel, Sounds a real 'bummer' couldnt you send it back? sure the other half would understand.
Thats the prob with buying kit from e bay, I got a Boss DD3 delay off there, noisy, worn, really clapped out, I thought it was a bargain, turned out to be utter junk. Guess we are never too old are we.

Bob Adams is away now to the Irish show, grab him when he gets back (mon/Tues) Im sure he will be able to advise, help or whatever.

Best of luck with it.
Dave.
