Private = shared only with authorised (Google / Youtube) accounts.
Unlisted - anyone with a link can view it (this is probably what you wanted).
Public - anyone can view it, and it's included in youtube listings / search results / your channel listing etc.

Oh yes ! I could well imagine the flak I'd get from Lin if I worked on a guitar on the
kitchen work top !
