Just out of curiosity, I rarely see someone my age playing steel and wondered if there are many? I'm 23.
Really enjoying the site and the steel! Still very unfamiliar to me, but I'm getting there slowly!!

I was 23 when I started playing....
Sarah Jory started playing at age three or something like that.
Jamie Lennon is quite young.

I was 21 when I started on lap steel.

don't seem to be many your age pickin' on steel John
in your case, Lap or psg ?
as you can tell, most of us reminisce bein' 20 & such
yep ! we're just a bunch of oldsters tryin' to stay young ( i'm 60)

I've taken up PSG. I bought a sheffield steel last year and I'm finally getting in to some serious learning.
Age is just a mentality!

Little Feat had a tune called " Old Folks Boogie " that had a line that went like this :
" you know you're over the hill, when your mind makes a promise that you're body can't fill

Well Done young man. Keep it up. Good to see youngsters taking an interest in something other than screaming rock guitars and thumping disco bass that passes for music these days. You are definitely in the right place for any assistance you might need.
