The Strand Lounge bar, Strandhill, County Sligo, surfers paradise, holiday resort on the west coast of Ireland, well known for its world class surfing, and a regular music venue for me with the 'Jesse Conlon Band' six piece Country band, playing hard edged modern country, we aint making a heap of money, but much more rewarding than playing in a duo, and its really stretching me on PSG, :guitar: :guitar: :guitar:

Oh yes, of course John, you played with Sandy Kelly on her Patsy Cline tour, and her Husband Mike [the sergeant major] , along with Sandy's Sis, Barbara, all from these 'ere parts, i have done a good few gigs with them also, and i actually met up with you in Ballintogher, Co. Sligo, a few miles down the road, and introduced you to Guinness, at the time you were touring Ireland with the Patsy Cline tribute show, if i remember correctly, for those of you who dont know of Sandy Kelly, she sung live with and recorded with the late, great Johnny Cash, and still does theatre tours all over the U.K. and Ireland,

Nice gig Eddie, I remember it well from years back. The guitarist in the resident trio had a "Grimshaw" .. [Leather covered pickups]..

Will we see you at our weekend gig at the Diamond Coast Hotel on 2nd-3rd--4th September ? Feel free to call in..

Hey Basil
A Grimshaw eh ? that's what Joe Brown had way back in the early sixties, his looked like a Gibson ES335, I
have a photo of it somewhere, I suppose they would be like the preverbial rocking horse s--t now ! 8-)
Hope all is well,
Frank. Corfu 8-)

WOW! Basil back in Ireland, and playing just down the road at the diamond coast, Ennischrone, another stunning little seaside town, i will definately pencil that one in, who are you playing with that weekend? i have not seen you play since i rushed from a local church social club i was playing at, to the Ardri Irish club in Manchester, to see this Steel player everyone was talking about, called Basil Hendrix (or so i was told, i thought it was Jimi's brother, similar hair] you were playing with T R Dallas at the time, i guess it must have been around '88' ? will look forward to seeing you again, it must be your first time at the diamond coast hotel, as it is only a few years old, so called cos the local beach is named the 'diamond coast' beautiful beaches stretching around the bay to Killala, County Mayo, only a couple of years ago, i sat on the strand wall, watching the most beautiful sunset i had ever seen, on the Atlantic Horizon, with six porpoises diving in and out of the water, frequent visitors brought in by the warm gulf stream, im told the water is 3 degrees warmer than the Irish sea, at any given time, im full of useful/useless information, and you will be a very welcome visitor too, Basil,
