Danny, I played the Lena Martell Show, She sang in Eb, Ab & Bb. I tuned to Eb9, the half tone made no difference, not to the Blanton anyway.

Very interesting Donny. I do like a full rounded, bottom end. I might try a bit of detuning myself, because I find when playing in A, E and B, I've really got to be aware of damping behind the bar to stop the 'chorusing' effect at the harmonic hotspots at the fifth, seventh, twelfth etc.

I have never liked playing in D on the steel. For me the register is either too low or high. It just never sounds pleasing to my ear.
