On having a shuftie at your profile, I noticed you play C6 lap. I'm currently pondering changing my Franklin pedal to the Sigler pedal, don't know if you're aware of this setup. It gives you a C6 across 7 strings, thought it might be something you might fancy incorporating into your Day or Emmons setup.

Danny, just hold your E lower on , gives you some pretty good C6th stuff, listen to Mr H's stuff I used it on some of tracks.

Hi Danny...Ive never heard of the Sigler pedal but it sounds interesting....I must admit the lap steel playing has almost been none existent since I got the pedal steel but it would be nice to recreate it on the E9th. I do get some C6 ish sounds holding down A+B, just A or lowering the E's but a specific pedal would be interesting

By the way Danny do you have the standard split on your RKR lever on your GFI? The split on mine is on RKL which I think is a bit strange...but maybe not. RKR does the normal thing dropping the 2nd string from D# to C# but as there is no split there you have to drop to D by ear. I'll have a good look under it tonight to see what exactly is going on

my RKL raises F# to G/G# which does give a nice minor chord at the split

Roger, this is a link to a thread about the Sigler pedal. Very interesting. Mike Sigler is a champion of the GFI brand.

My setup is standard Emmons. (I think ) I have a LKV that drops both Bs to Bb, my RKL drops G#(string 6)to F# and raises strings 1 and 2 to G# and E. RKR is a split, string 2 drops to D at the stop then pushing past this drops 2 to C# and string 9 to C#, also. I hope this is clear because I am truly clueless.

Danny, have had the pleasure of seeing Mike Sigler at the Dallas show many times, always make a point of going to the sessions he does in the GFI room.He is a superb player and is a real nice guy, always willing to talk to everyone and answer any question asked of him.

Danny, start saving your pennies and get to Dallas you won't regret it I know fare is relatively expensive, but everything else is reasonable, $70 dollars entrance for whole show, hotel ( Redroof Inn) about $54 a night , food cheap.Have a look for flight sale offers , You can go Glasgow/London/Dallas, Glasgow/Chicago or New York/ Dallas or Glasgow/Amsterdam/ Dallas.There are quite a few from this side of pond who would be only to happy to show you around and introduce you to everyone over there.( If you have to, take wife and send her up to Grapevine Mills shopping mall ).
