it appears to me to be a mahogany body with an added homemade fretboard plus the bridge gummins? its a 22.5" scale, there are no serial no/s...heres a link to further pics[not more i hear you cry]

The bridge cover is not an uncommon feature in old guitars. That "string spacer" looks definately an addition and, if the nut is cut right, unnecessary. I don't follow your query on magnets, maybe the close-up pic is too close? Are they sited under the s/plate with the ends touching the pole pieces, like a Charlie Christian? Tony.
BTW - don't know if you went any further past that Harmony board link, but here's another to their "kitchen lutherie". A number of articles on guiutar fixing on the kitchen table - includes some on rewinding pups and even moulding retro buttons for tuners. I don't know the maker, but my gut feeling is that it's German. Those Weißgerber tuners with the H-shaped baseplates would seem to point in that direction, no?

tony, the spacer was deffo an add on that has now been sent to the land of stupid addons, im puzzled about the magnets cos i wasnt aware of any setups like this, the pup poles are "screws"?...i got the wiring sorted along with the tone, awaiting delivery of some kluson machineheads/tuners, then i can string it up...still not sure about the rosewood bridge? its too an addon but it does/did sound warm and mellow so i may stick with it but just make a better job of it, ill get a metal bridge made up just in case

hi rick, yeah the tuners are nice i thought they were homemdae jobbies but i did a quick search on your advice and it turns out your right and they seem to be well considered, so hopefully i may find a set or even the odd missing one. gonna maybe need a fretboard too, the one on it is deffo homemade, good job but not sure if its set out right just yet! will have to wait till i get it strung and tuned up

If it is German that leads to checking out the Framus factory (they did produce a "Deluxe" but that is listed as a console or "table" model) then into researching Musima, the East German factory that was a Euro. equivalent of Harmony, producing scores of instruments for re-badging. Pup covers look quite Teisco, or spin-off, in design, which leads due east - could the whole guitar be a handmade?

this is what im leaning to Tony,everything seems to have that homemade feel to it from the fretboard having been layed out wrong[some marks where he/she was going to put the marker dots but then realised it was wrong so tried to disguise it]to the pickup havin screws as poles? im waiting on some klusons before i string it up then ill take her for a trial run!
