SSGW 1st Anniversary.jpg
A nice wee memory........

I came across this and it brought back nice memories.

Picture courtesy of Bob Adams, photographer par excellence of this parrish. Apologies to Bob, as I had to downsize the image, for uploading purposes, but as it's turned out, the soft, smeared focus makes it slightly easier on the eye.

Just added a couple Danny!
GFI Ultra keyless S10 4+5 Emmon's setup + Sigler, Li'l Izzy, Hilton volume pedal, Roland Cube 80gx, Joyo American Sound Pre-amp, Behringer VD400 Delay Pedal, Peterson Strobo Plus HD and a brace of bars, Ben's, Ezzee-Slide, Pearse, BJS, SIT nickel strings.

Nice Memory right enough, I'd forgotten all about that. Thanks Danny. LDN.

That picture was taken on the occasion of our 1st anniversary, October 2013. Hope you're keeping a bit better. Donny.

Aye, Geoff, I had only just rolled up with my Carter Starter, and all these kind gents helped me no end.

Kneeling on the left is Billy the Taxi (great name), and above him and between Bob and Reg is Ronnie, and the young dude betwixt Reg and myself is Stuart. I reckon these would the faces you don't recognise.

Along with Donny, I hope things are improving for you and you're able to get on that shiny beast of yours. :guitar:

Thanks guys, getting there but it's slow going. However around 6 months ago I could hardly walk, now I'm doing 6k walks, every now and then when I get down about it all I think back to how I was not that long ago and how I am now. It's like being given a 2nd shot at life and I have the great support of the NHS Cancer team to thank for that.

I have started playing again, it's a bit like starting again, but it all comes back quite quickly, enjoying it.

My biggest problem now is my hair  I lost it all due to the chemo and now it's grown back in, in a different way. It's quite common after chemo apparently, usually it goes back to normal after about 3 months, not so in my case, I now have a great afro style 8-)

Seeing Reg there brings back good memories.

Hoping to make it through to Gartcosh soon, though I probably won't bring my gear, still get a lot of pain when I lift heavy things. The doc says not to do it ;)

But we'll see how things are at the time.

I haven’t met you yet Geoff, but followed your story on the Forum. I’ve met LDN , Willie and Davey and hope to meet you in the future,
Your recovery is a mammoth task, but you are determined and I’m sure you will get there. Put the North East Steelies Festival 2023 in your diary and I look forward to shaking your hand.
Keith.

Many thanks for your kind thoughts Keith. I hope one day to take you up on your offer and I would be honoured to shake your hand. I know Donny often attends the NESF, from the pictures I've seen of this event it looks like a lot of fun and good company. Probably not this year unfortunately, but we'll see.

I lived in Newcastle for a while back in the early 70's, it was a great place to see bands, had a great time there and got on well with the Geordies, similar sense of humour to us Scots.

Take care,

Geoff
