my ever evolving stage set up, now consists of guitar [6 string] into boss gt 10 floor processor, and into peavey n112, i have been very happy with this set up for a while now, but my steel set up has constantly been changing, looking for my ideal sound and set up, the best sound i have ever had is my steel into my boss gt 10, with its own patch dialled in, and i switched with an A/B switch between the two instruments, but that presented its own problems, eg. having to press A/B switch and gt 10 patch while switching instruments, especially on a split instrumental, just not practical, its hard enough to switch instruments without having to press two seperate switches, solution, the steel should have its own independant processor, i tried the LINE 6 POD XT, and it was ok, but nothing like as good as the GT 10, then i came across the BOSS ME 25, which has a built in volume pedal, which doesnt change the tone as it is backed off, well under 200 quid, i have gigged it once, was very happy with the sound, all i use on it is reverb, with a touch of delay, plus a little compression to add fullness and sustain, dont use the built in pre amps, and i find it much better tonally than the POD XT, and im not having to use my ERNIE BALL volume pedal, so its now STEEL into BOSS ME 25 into PEAVEY N112, very simple set up, with the added bonus of having its own inbuilt tuner,
ps, someone wrote in on the U.S. forum re; their DIGITECH rp 250, which has an integral volume pedal just like my BOSS unit, and they were questioning why anybody would go to the huge expense of one of the boutique electronic volume pedals, when his DIGITECH integral volume pedal, did the exact same thing, same tone when pressed or de pressed, and he, like me, has his reverb, delay, compression and tuner all built into his unit, i think he may have a very valid point,
