Lap steel guitars.

In response to a request (honest - I could tell you who!) here are some pictures of some old and recent(ish) acquisitions.
GoldTone 8 string.jpg

Gold Tone 8st, Beard signature model, Quarterman cone, removeable hand rest. "Sweet" tone - probably due to the thinner strings. Tuned (lo-hi) C;E;G;A;C;E;G;D like a PSG C6th with high G and D. Uses PSG strings from JD.
Regals.jpg

Right - Paul Beard started and I finished the conversion to 7 strings, Quarterman cone; sound similar to the 8st but more beef. Tuned G6th, standard bronze reso. set with 34w in middle (D'Addario I think)
Left - modified (Korean?) Regal 6 st. Paul Beard no.14 spider, Mike Replogle cone (I'm told he taught Paul how to spin cones), custom cover-plate with removeable rest. Quite robust but still great sound, standard 17-56 bronze reso. G set, (GHS).
Harmony H7 Roy Smeck.jpg

Harmony H7, Roy Smeck. Tuned standard A6th, (hi-lo) 14;17;21;26w;30w;36w: - good gauges for bending behind the bar. Eagle music shop.
Rickenbacker in case.jpg

Rickenbacker Electro. Tuned standard C6th; same gauges/strings as H7.
Rob Collins Uke.jpg

Soprano uke, handmade by Rob Collins (Hebden Bridge, Yorks) from reclaimed mahogany. Super tone, sweet with a slight punch.
