To Flip or not to Flip that is the question ????

I thought I was in a minority but seems there are more left handers out there playing right handed. I am also left handed but play steel and regular guitar right handed.

There you are JD, what Danny and I said makes sense if you wish to move steels as you do you need to flip at least one.
Like Lloyd Green , Derek Thurby and more they are all left handed but play steel and guitars right handed so there are more players looking for right handed steels. FLIP.

I think that all you right handed players that are saying 'flip it' are being very selfish. You are in a very enviable position to go and try any make and model of PSG that takes your fancy.
I am fully aware of several players etc that are left handed but play right handed. But I think you will find that they all (most) started playing PSG very young when it is easier to adapt.

Us lefties that have been playing normal six string guitars for a number of years (myself 60 years) cannot and do not wish to try and play right handed this late in life.

It is only in later life that some of us can afford to buy a PSG and the choices of finding a left handed PSG second hand (let alone a particular model) are rarer than hens teeth. So it might be nice to sometimes think of the other side of the coin.

I know you all mean well by telling John to 'flip it' to make a sale.....but I think the work involved would cancel out his profit unless he obtained them at a very good price, but that is not for me (us) to question. My point is that by 'flipping' the few left handed PSG's that are out there, is denying another 'leftie' from fulfilling his dream.

I don't want this flipping question to cause upset on either side but its not just the steels that are rare as Hens teethe you try finding a Southpaw that wants a steel that has not already got one. I have had quite a lot to do already with this Bennett, it is like new but I don't think its been played, when I got it the leg sockets were not properly tapped out but it did have a proper set of legs with it. now it is all good and ready to go But I cannot play it cannot Demo it and that is frustrating. I don't mind keeping it for a while but when I decide I need the space Then! the flipping will commence to proceed to begin to start flippppping

Hi John, and fellow posters,
I also do not wish to cause any upset on either side with the flipping question either,and I respect other posters view's as well.
I also understand and respect what you say about the potential market being thin on the ground and it is up to you to do what is in your best interest.

I have always loved the PSG and it wasn't until late in life that I could afford one, and I'm really enjoying just picking along to some simple Country records.
I was just saying how frustrating it is from a lefties point of view the difficulty in obtaining one.

I hope this explains my previous post and clears up any misunderstanding that may have incurred.

update on the Southpaw Bennett, it has now been on Ebay for a good few weeks and has had over 400 views and 13 people watching its progress so, i will give it one more week for the lefties to drool over and then it will be withdrawn for a flip flop ...I think that is a fair amount of time to leave it on offer......

Seems fair enough to me! I just wish that I had found one the first time I tried to play. Lefties have always had problems with availability. Maybe that's why so many of us get used to playing the conventional way. Good luck with the sale whichever way it goes.
