Convert regular pedal steel = E9 to C6?

Postby Charlie Brown » Sat Jun 06, 2020 8:52 pm

Hi guys, hope you are all doing well :)

I have two single necks sitting around and really miss my double neck, sold it a while ago... but I don't have space for another PS!

I'd love to get back to noodling around with C6 again, has anyone here converted a PS with regular E9 tuning into C6?

Any experience with this?

Thanks :guitar:

I have mostly done it the other way around but how easy may depend on what make of guitar and how many pedals it has at the moment.

If you fancy a go at building from scratch I have a complete back neck (Alloy)with fret board, headstock with tuners, mechanism with George L P.UP
for 200GB£ plus shipping so you could start with 10 string lappy when you find a plank to put it on and add the rest as you progress.......

thanks john, that's a tempting offer but I think it's best to try and convert my PS - it's a bennet 3x4, I could post a few pics if that could help

Thank goodness Charlie, and thank you for cheering me up! I get so depressed :cry: at the many D10s that have been turned into DS-10s. Like you I would be happy with a single neck C6th! I can't turn my D-11 into a single neck without to much trauma as it's a Sierra "tank", but I'm happy enough to have the most-used deck handy at the back :D
Fender SM T-8: Shakey 10-plank: Ricky 6: Harmony H7 R Smeck,: plus "home-mades"
Fender D-10: Sierra D-11:
Resos- Goldtone 8 string & Regal 7
FenderTwin: Peavey Delta Blues: Marshall AS50R: DigiTech>GK MB200->Telonics 15"

haha, yup... I'm going the "wrong" way...

After some thought I'm going to ditch the idea and simply look for a nice double neck. But that will probably be after summer, it will take a few weeks/months to convince the missus, I have to explain that the last one I bought wasn't actually "the last one I'd buy" :twisted: 8-)
