Fore 'n' Aft.

Postby SHAKEY » Sun Jun 23, 2013 2:41 pm

Well after 4 months and a hell of a lot of money I finally got this old "Bud" in some kind of shape. I bought it, supposedly in playable condition, well I suppose that is true if you didn't want to use pedals. I had to take it to an engineering shop to get the changer apart as the axle was seezed solid and some of the changers too. It was a complete strip job and loads of wood filler to fill in all the holes, you may have seen them under my thread 'Most religious Steel.' I had to buy new racks from Jim Moorehead for which I was really grateful as without them I might as well have binned the whole thing.
Now it works fine 'Rack 'n' no Rattle. Here's a couple of pics 'Fore 'n' Aft' and how it sounds. I haven't played for that long I'm a bit rusty.

Dave.

Thanks Roy, if only I could get down to a meeting with it, still living in hope.

It so good to see so many old Sho Buds being refurbed and brought back to life. Just love the sound of an old Bud. Magic. :)
