Beefing up the Bennett

I bought this 8 string plank from a guy North of Watford, In his defense he did not charge me a great deal for it but nor did he say it was trying to make like a banana and the axle was working its way through the wood on its way to the nut!! So if you have one of these you are not using, it might be an idea to slacken off the strings while it is being stored and take the weight off of it........

I am a little disappointed..... Conversation is the life blood of the forum but after 62 views no comment..... Good job? ...bad job?... will it work ?... who knows? Why bother to take pics and show what you are up to?.... is it because its not a pedal but a plank?.... at least its not a Banjo

Well done JD, from a banana back to a playable instrument . Sounds good, but please don't use the word banjo on this site, that could give you a life time ban.

Good job well done considering the wood has been stressed and so badly cracked, this repair should last forever and it's a "proper job" as ones down "south" would say!
Regards knowing now't about planks you made an old one sound good, what tuning are you using and could you tab the toon for "numpties" like me to try it?
You almost made national TV with your interruption during the recording process but you carried on regardless just the same
Keep up the good work repairing and restoring older instruments, it keeps them alive for others to play
