So a couple of weeks back I finally got my first Pedal Steel Guitar.

I couldn't have done it without the steel guitar forum (you guys are legends). Also big thanks to these gents for all their help, advise and encouragement: JD, elparkirio, Jon Shacklock, Barry, Andy and all the guys down at South London Steelies, Darren, Dessa, Ken.

Cheers to Ken Stratford for dealing with me coming up and having a go on her before I made my decision. Ken was very understanding and generously served up a great cup of tea and biscuits!

She's a big girl (32kgs!), certainly not something I could have got back from Ken's on the train.

But thanks to Matt Park's whippy car we got her back to London. And not only that, Matt came round and did a bloody stella job on setting her up: tuning, adjusting the raises and lowers on the levers, pedal height, the works. What a Top Chap!

Now the journey begins...

If there are any would-be steelies out there who aren't sure if they can make the jump - all I can say is: GO FOR IT - if you get in touch with the guys on here you'll be in safe hands.
