Fuzzy Steels

[ZBSD-10]

These surfaced in the mid '70's and were not too bad , I had two of these (not at the same time mind you !)
an S-10 , 3 + 1 and a D-10 , 8 + 1. This one is a 6 pedal, no knee levers. Are there any about now ??

The business end of a D-10 Fuzzy steel, looks like a lot was copied from the top
American steels, to me, the only fault was unadjustable legs !.........
They are now ( vastly improved !) called Excel Steels

taken about 1972/3, note the Vox Defiant amp and Selmer speaker cabinet !

That Fuzzy must have been refinished, never saw any that were'nt black, a bit like the old Ford cars, you could
have any colour you wanted as long as it was black !

Hi Frank, I bought a green advertiser on wednesday and there it was back in print again. It has six pedals and two K/N and the asking price is £550.

Frankie, this is the Fuzzy I owned back in 1976 bought it from a music shop in Kingswood Bristol, the guys in the shop had no idea what it was, they were selling it for one of their customers who wanted £380 for it I got in the end for £250. It now lives somewhere in Dorchester, Dorset. 6 pedals and 1 knee lever.

Away back t' bed Frank ..... It was the advertiser that was green not the Fuzzy!

Mine cost me £300 in '74 ...

Carted it round Ireland on a trailer that the tyre blew on, the tyre went 50 feet in the air, fortunately the steel survived!

Ah ! you are alive then Mr Adams ! wondered where you've been !
I realised that I had mistakenly took the "Green" as the colour of the Fuzzy after re-reading the post again,
I had hoped nobody else had noticed !
I think if a Fuzzy came your way you could convert it to a really fine guitar, they just need the underneath
modernised.
