Hilton and Ezzzee Slide.

Fri Dec 25, 2020 3:55 pm

Christmas has been kind to me. On Wednesday I picked up my new bar from Basil, its a work of art! he now lives about 20 miles away here in Cornwall!
Can't try it till tomorrow, after xmas is over (one of the conditions of getting this bar AND a Hilton volume pedal as xmas presents from my wife) its a good job the advert for the Hilton pedal was on our steelies newsletter! which enabled her to get the right one! it was bought covertly from Gerry Hogan.
So looking forward to trying these two tools out after the " imposed " xmas ban!!

So having spent a few hours with my new toys! I am so impressed that I'm not sure I can do them justice with a few words.

First the wonderful bar that Basil has made for me, I haven't lost my grip on it once, that is a major bonus, god it's slippery on the strings, no noise! the sustain is great, told you I can't do it justice with a few words! Thank you Basil.

Ok the Hilton, what a smooth clear, clean sound, I swear it makes me play better, I can say no more other than " best xmas pressies ever "
Happy new yesr to one and all. Cheers

Cheers mate, hope the new year is kind to you. I think Sandy, my wife, is now regretting the pressies! she cant get me away from it!
I have another question? Im using a couple of drum apps to play along with, Drum Metronome and Loops. Both are pre programed drum rhythms. Is there any better ones anyone can recommend.
Maybe I should put this as a new post!

Tony,
I used to use an app called iReal Pro, I think it was about a tenner. It's still preprogrammed though. Kind of a lite version of Band In A Box, where you can write your own backing.
Garageband gets good plaudits from the iPhone community, but, being but an android I know nothing of this.
But, if you really want to get into writing great sounding drum parts there's Toontrack Superior Drummer, costs a packet, computer only, but sounds real.

Thanks Danny, I'll check them out. I don't want to get into programming drum tracks just looking for pre programmed apps. Dont think wifie will let me spend any more money this year! Roll on next year. !!
Thank you.

In that case, Tony, I can definitely recommend iReal Pro. It comes with a catalogue of songs/styles, the ability to edit these, change instrumentation and the levels of these and the fact you can create your own songs, with backing. All good fun!

Cheers mate, I will be reviewing iReal pro in January, I've had a good look and it seems to offer a mindblowing choice of options so thanks
for your help.
