Hi John, I worked on a single finger Maverick recently. One finger meant for all raise or all lower not both.
It is difficult to get an accurate raise and lower even with defined balancing springs.
My compromise was a half raise lever on the fourth and a lower on the eighth.
For the top chord he could get the Eb on the open 2nd string instead of the 4th lower anyway so could achieve it all, just a different grip.
A thought perhaps?

Take a look at the diagrams on this site to see how the spring-loaded lowering rod works
http://steelguitarbuilder.com/forum/vie ... ?f=4&t=508As for the double raise, it's always helpful to have fine-tuners on the bellcranks, it makes initial setup a doddle

Thanks for the input guys and for the diagram Richard I should have looked for that before I started !! anyway , I just made it up as I went along with the material i had to hand if you dissect it I reckon the idea is pretty much the same but maybe it would work better with the spring at the end I dont know.
Where I am at now I have raise and lower on both E's and I am getting ready to install the rest of the rods..... will keep you posted

Well!! looks ain't everything Uncle Roy I am not att all happy with it, by this time I reckon I am 550 into it and looking to get my money back if I can
It needs to go to someone who does not mind getting to grips with the pull release system and making it work properly..... I reckon it is beyond me
This is as good as it gets............

Hi John, this steel with a couple of pedals fitted would make an excellent C6 ten, only saying this because my interest in the standard country or today's country has faded, but my interest in Western Swing has evolved and become quite exciting, well, at home anyway, and not too many C6 10 strings around now unless your dragging one around on the back of an E9.
Go on, string it up to C6 with two or three pedal's, bet it will go.
