Watch and weep

This video is from Mike Ihde interviewing Bobby Seymour, it's well worth viewing and puts a new " slant " on how to use a steel guitar without or even with pedals!

That’s a great clip Robert and thanks for posting. I love that sort of stuff. Almost makes me want to buy a plank.......
Cheers

Calum
When I first watched this video, I had a vision of you and Geoff sitting in the woods nearby with some hootch fingerpicking on planks and playing " duelling steels " then I realised you'd be lost without the mechanical engineering problems that give you sleepless nights, as a plank would never give you enough to worry about! :guitar: :guitar:
Your choice of tuning and the thoughts of how many palm levers you could get on a plank would be more trouble than any of the " wood worms " you could encounter. :x

Bobby certainly opened up a right can of worms when he played those bass runs and accompanied the melody, I think he threw the book out the window when playing without picks, his bar control is brilliant, but he never read about holding a bar like that in any textbook or forum post.
Food for thought comes from watching this performance, but my thoughts are, I'll just give up! :guitar: :guitar:

I remember watching Bobbe on a vid playing C6 and he said it was easier than pedal steel. He immediately burst into "Secret Love" jazz style. I was blown so with that went and bought a lap steel guitar which opened up a whole new avenue for me. Glad I did it.

When Bobbe has finished, leave the vid running. There is a great interview with Mike Aldridge that follows.
