This represents a good few hours work for me with Q. lines and keys so I thought I would share it with you, if you don't read but you ever get the chance to play the theater production "Best Little Whorehouse in Tx." (its a lot of fun) copy this list and file it away in your pc it may well help you.......

John, I've never had the opportunity to gaze into an orchestra pit and I'm curious to know how you set up in that situation.

Do you play quiet and go through the p.a.? Or, do you play at a normal level and tilt your amp towards the body of 'the Kirk'? That's a very different type of gig, I guess you have to keep one eye on the M.D./ conductor and one eye on your bar position, not a good look :shock:

you get mic'd up and the sound man feeds you into the mix, I have my amp loud enough to hear what I am doing as I play by ear and cannot read the score.... but having done it a few times I know what is expected of me and can do it from memory..... it's an interesting thing to do but quite hard work .different MD's have different idea's and standards.
