I could use some help on this if anyone has an easier to play idea on this turn around ?? or just an explanation of how Paul Franklin plays it .... that would work for me....

John, the "foreigner" chord in there is a D major I think, that's definitely in the chord progression that backs the verses, and it doesn't sound any different harmonically just because there's some inventiveness in how he gets the notes. But I don't think he is getting the notes for it at 10.

It sounds like that effect you get when you hit 3 & 4, then 1 & 2 raised for the unison effect before you let them back down again. But that would produce notes that are too high. I think he is getting the unison effect because he is hitting 1 & 2 at 8 for a D and a B below it, then hitting 4 & 5 before bending one of them up to unison, using the B & C pedals. You don't get unison with both strings, but that doesn't seem to matter. The notes you get from bending 4 & 5 with the C pedal are D and A, and they are still part of a D chord, that seems to be why it works.

At that moment you are also getting an F with the B pedal, but because you aren't playing 3 or 6 strings, that doesn't matter, and the B pedal is there ready for the next bit. I think you are about right after that, haven't given it more than a moment's thought there really, because I was looking more at the "unison bend" thing.

I have worked out an 'acceptable' version of this solo

If you lower your 6th and 2nd strings a full tone, you can do the tricky bit like so:

pick strings 4 and 5 at fret 8, then engage the A pedal, and let the strings ring.

Move up two frets, with the A pedal still engaged, and pick again.

Activate your E lever (the one that lowers the 4th string a semitone) and pick strings 4 and 5 at the 12th fret, and quickly slide up to the 13th fret.

Whilst those two strings are still ringing, activate the knee lever that lowers string 2, then pick string 2, then release the lever, then activate the lever once more to drop the 2nd string a full tone

Now pick strings 5 and 6 at the 13th fret

Let string 5 ring and activate the lever that lowers the 6th a full tone

Let the strings ring and slide back to the 11th fret, releasing the knee lever half way (to drop the 6th a semitone), and also pressing the A pedal while you are sliding back
