Using the B and C pedals in scales

Just wondering if and how people use the B and C pedals in scales?

i take it you mean psg E9 tuning ?
in E strings 3 5 (6) :
fret 0 : no pedals - fret 2 B&C - fret 4 B&C - fret 5 no pedals - fret 7 no pedals - fret 7 B&C - fret 9 B&C - fret 12 no pedals

Yes, sorry, I should have given more information. I am thinking about single note runs across the neck in E9 tuning.

Thanks for these scales and modes, James. I am intrigued to see the C pedal does not feature at all.

Si Senor, my last post w: the scales does not use the C pedal
they are the basics that are usually known & used by many if not all
as for using pedal C, just use my first example & use it by running up the 7 degrees up to the octave
that should not be hard to understand & do Buster Tweed
try it, you'll love it ( wink )
edited : many newbies & certain players prefer when they are showed all ( ie : cuttin' the meat in their plate for them )
i prefer when one takes the time & makes the effort to search, find & rescue

The C pedal is generally tuned to sound good (in tune) when played in a chord with the other strings (can of worms alert!!!). Therefore if you use it to play scales you're going to have tuning issues and you'll need to compensate with the bar. I think most people tend to use the C pedal for play licks rather than single note and harmonised scales. Personally, I just stick with A & B pedals and E & F levers for playing the scalar stuff.

i have no probs using my C pedal on 2 note scale runs - but then it could very well be that my Zum requires less compromise
but then me ears could very well be in the back of me pants like

LOL nicely put James.
But TBH we do tend to neglect the C & B pedals (as in the IIm chord) and they can produce some lovely moves when used judiciously. JD shows me Gordon Huntley stuff, usually two notes starting on the same note but moving in opposite directions, that sort of thing, almost always uses C & B.
We really do need to think these thngs out for ourselves, not just get them given on a plate. I value (and LEARN!) much more when I work it out for myself - even if it takes me longer. This drives JD mad with frustration, but it's the only effective way I can learn.
