Suggested strings and tunings for new 2nd lapsteel

Hi I am new on here so please bear with me.

I have a lapsteel, none pedal, which is tuned to C6. My lovely wife of 52 years wed, has bought me a new Gretsh G5700, it arrives tomorrow if the carriers don't lose it.
My question is what do the knowledgeable members suggest that I tune the new steel to, given that I am a 76YRS novice in serious need of tuition. I have several books mostly on different tunings. Peter Roller on D and G, Don Helms on E13 as a sample.
