Learning from Utube

Hope its ok to post this here.
As a returning steelie from 40 years ago! I am amazed at the knowledge on utube, I am sure most of you already know but for, possibly, just that one person who doesn't, I use two apps to download, slow down and play back without a change in key. Tubemate to download from utube and VLC, app looks like a traffic cone, tubemate loads direct to vlc. I learnt fiddle from utube this way, and I have learnt so much in 3 months on steel that, even though I was recording doing Tv and radio 40 years ago. There is still so much info out there that I never knew and slowing tracks down its easy to work out the sound/string/fret. Hope this hasn't bored to many of you, for the one who didn't know, good luck.

Two Totally, Top, Terrific Tips Tony!

I'd add another, Riffstation, for use with audio, rather than video. It displays the chords as it plays through, let's you change tempo/key and let's you filter out some of the mix to help you focus in on whatever you want to learn. Not perfect, but does the job.

As an aside, Tony, I notice we both have the VD

(Behringer delay pedal, that is. I must admit, I'm more than happy with mine. A great wee buy.)

Yes mine is recent purchase, based on cost and utube reviews. Excellent value, just waiting for a mains adaptor, batts don't last long, I still love the " true" sound of the steel but it does get me that echo sound that is great in moderation.
