Re- understanding the mechanism and how it works pitfalls etc. You don't just need to learn how to play the thing!! you need to develop a basic understanding
of how it works and what happens when you over twiddle the little nylon thingies at the end So, can someone start this off with info on mech in neutral how much lever movement required to affect the change how much play required so as not to overtune it and what happens when you do?????
I do not claim to own the Bible on this at all so if I am wrong please correct me??
Position of pull on bell cranks I am told as low to the shaft as you can get and still have sufficient movement to affect the change.
Initial set up would be top E set foot pedal so you can get from the tuned E to F# plus a smidgeion for clearance THEN make sure you have the movement to get the Eb I think this the most important part as once this is right, the rest is easier, what do you think?? Is this helpful or should I shut to :censored: up!?
Can we have some input from the likes of David S and Richard B to help the new players understand what they have got themselves into please??? :o :?

No John, I do not think you should keep quiet. This is a very important aspect in Steel ownership. I will have to bite the bullet and make the journey to your workshop to bring mine back up to standard. :?
