but to my ears, it just screams B and C pedals.

Oh Will, don't take it to heart so. :cry: I always read your input (and everyone else's) with great respect and gratitude that someone has taken the trouble to share with me some hard found knowledge for which one day (when I've understood and mastered it) I will be extremely grateful. :)

Thanks for the support, guys. Jason, I have The Amazing Slowdowner, a brilliant piece of software which allows you to pick out any piece of a recording, and play it back at any speed - or pitch - and even loop it over and over so you can really get your ears around it.

I truly cannot hear the difference between the version played with the A & B pedals, and that played with B&C. I have tried them both many times, as loud as a slumbering household permits. I am well aware that the difference is that the 4th string goes from E to F#, as it were, when using the B&C pedals, but here's the thing:

with B&C, you are playing (eg) Em / Ebm / Dm. With A&B, you are playing Em7 / Ebm7 / Dm7. There's very little difference - it's essentially the same chords for most purposes. I'll only say it's handy to be able to stay on A&B rather than nip across to B&C, then back again.

Clearly, both will work. Mind you, if anyone has the definitive answer, from knowing what was actually played, that would be good to have.

But I'm still wondering about the last-but-one chord. I'm pretty sure it's a full F major triad, played on the 4th fret..... anyone?
