Baker Street - Well it's done. Only one snag. Had this horrible flu bug that's going around and sinuses blocked. Now partially deaf until it clears so the mix may not be spot on.

I used my ShoBud 6139 for most but then used my ZB student which I have tuned to C6 for the slide solo - with a bit of overdrive
ShoBud 6139 - Remington Steelmaster - George Boards 8 String - Gretsch Country Gent - National Twin 8 Console x 2 - National New Yorker and a shed full of guitars.

Nice one Mick.

I thoroughly enjoyed that, and it seems your chops have the power to make women 'goose bumpy'!

On the original theme, some solos that always stop me in my tracks are; the aforementioned 'Late For The Sky' feat. David Lindley, 'Midnight At The Oasis' feat. Amos Garrett, 'Don't Take Me Alive' feat. Larry Carlton, and a trumpet/flugelhorn solo in 'She Knows' by Ray Charles feat. Oscar Brashear. In fact, when I think about it, they make me 'goose bumpy', I now know what that gal, on your soundcloud page, was on about.

I should also include, since taking up pedal steel, almost everything I've heard played on this beautiful instrument, clips posted here, Youtube, CDs and monthly in Gartcosh. Inspirational.

Thanks for posting.
GFI Ultra keyless S10 4+5 Emmon's setup + Sigler, Li'l Izzy, Hilton volume pedal, Roland Cube 80gx, Joyo American Sound Pre-amp, Behringer VD400 Delay Pedal, Peterson Strobo Plus HD and a brace of bars, Ben's, Ezzee-Slide, Pearse, BJS, SIT nickel strings.

Here here Mr H. Learning from others is good practice but being yourself is the most important thing. Music would not have the impact it does if everyone sounded the same.

There are some steel solos that are pretty much obligatory, Together Again, Look At Us, Garden Party etc etc. Other tunes can survive with a carefully and well constructed solo which is my preferred option. Working out a decent break that compliments a song is infinitely more rewarding than nicking something from someone else. 8-) ;)
